Development of Anti-Trafficking Network Website
In 2005, the OSCE Mission to Moldova joined with Winrock International’s New Perspectives for Women Project to develop a website in the sphere of anti-trafficking in Moldova, registered as the Anti-Trafficking Network of Moldova, www.atnet.md . Development of this website continued until its official launch 8 November 2006. The OSCE Mission and Winrock International, in partnership, will update and maintain the website on a regular and continuous basis.
The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the world's largest regional security organization, whose 56 participating States span the geographical area from Vancouver, Canada to Vladivostok, Russia. As a field presence of the OSCE, the Mission to Moldova was established in 1993 primarily to facilitate the achievement of a lasting political settlement of the conflict between the Republic of Moldova and the breakaway region of Transnistria. Within that framework, the Mission to Moldova also seeks to provide advice and expertise on human and minority rights, democratic transformation, and repatriation of refugees. More specifically, the Anti-Trafficking and Gender Programme of the OSCE Mission to Moldova seeks to prevent and combat trafficking in human beings; to prevent and combat domestic violence; to promote gender equality and women’s rights; to enhance identification, protection and assistance to victims and vulnerable persons; to support the observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms; and to support the observance of the rule of law www.osce.org/moldova.
